How To Get My College Transcript

ALL CUNY campuses are only open to essential staff starting March 16th, 2020 until further notice. We encourage everyone to select the PDF Transcript order option (if eligible), please expect delays in delivery if Paper Hard-Copy transcript option is selected.

The City University of New York (CUNY) has partnered with Parchment as the service provider to process all CUNY Institution's transcript orders online. Its service delivers automated processing of official academic transcripts where current, former and alumni students have the ability to access this web ordering service in obtaining their official academic transcripts.

Note: In accordance with the policies of the City University of New York, there is no transcript fee for transcripts going from one CUNY college to another CUNY college or affiliated units. If your transcript is in CUNYfirst, CUNY Admission/Registrar staff can access your record if needed for transfer credit evaluation and/or admission processing.

Current Students

Students who are currently enrolled or have previously enrolled in the last semester or so in any CUNY Institution must log into their CUNYfirst account (cunyfirst.cuny.edu), and go to their Student Center. Once on the Student Center page, follow the instructions below:

On the Student Center page, under the "Academics" tab, select "Request Official Transcript." This will take you to the transcript ordering services page, with a list of all CUNY Institution's Transcript Ordering Services sites.

All Transcript Ordering Services page contains an "Information" section, which contains current information about the Institution you are requesting the transcript from. Such information listed may be relevant to a student ordering an official transcript:

- Information on sending an official transcript from one CUNY Institution to another CUNY Institution
- Campus Registrar's Operation Hours
- Instructions to former students who have attended any CUNY Institution before 1980 etc.

Former Students

Former/Alumni students who have used CUNYfirst previously, must sign on to their account and follow the same steps used as a current student to request their official transcript on Student Center.

If you do not remember your username and/or password, please follow the instructions listed below.

If you have a CUNYfirst account and have forgotten your password:
- Go to cunyfirst.cuny.edu and select "Forgot Password" to reset your password.

If you have forgotten your CUNYfirst account username:
- Go to cunyfirst.cuny.edu, select "Forgot Username" and fill out the necessary information.

NOTE: If you need additional assistance with your CUNYfirst Username and password, please contact the Help Desk (Tech Resources & Help Desks) of the specific CUNY Institution.

If a former/alumni student has not used CUNYfirst or is unable to order the transcript through CUNYfirst, a transcript order request can be directly made by clicking here.

Transcript Ordering Online Status

After placing the transcript request order online, you can check the status of the order on Parchment Order Status page. Type your order number in the field provided.

If for any reason Parchment is unable to fulfill your order, you will be notified via email, or you may contact the Registrar's Office (click Campus Registrars) of the CUNY Institution you have ordered your official transcript from.

Ordering in Person

Until further notice, students are highly encouraged to order their Official Transcripts online. Please see "Current Students" or "Former Students" Sections.

You can also visit Campus Registrar Offices to select the Campus Registrar's home page for contact information in regards to transcript ordering.

Students who are currently enrolled in any CUNY Institution are able to obtain an "Unofficial Transcript", free of charge, through their Student Center in CUNYfirst by following the steps below:

Under the "Academics" tab of the Student Center page, click on the drop down menu located on the left side that reads "Other Academics" and select the option "Transcript: View Unofficial."
Once "Transcript: View Unofficial" is selected, click on the blue arrow to proceed to the next page.
Select the Academic Institution from the drop down menu, then select the Report Type which is "Student Unofficial Transcript."
Select "View Report", which opens a new window to view the student unofficial transcript.*

*NOTE: It is recommended that you "turn off" pop up blockers in your browser to view the student unofficial transcript selected. Once this is turned off, the student unofficial transcript will open on a separate window.

Current students: Students who are currently enrolled in any CUNY Institution.

Former students: Students who were enrolled in any CUNY Institution but have stopped attending and have not completed a degree.

Alumni: Individuals who have earned a degree from any CUNY Institution they have attended previously.
